Course O is underway!

September 20th saw the launch of the latest CertFAA course in Central London.

Fifteen students from 8 firms are pictured (right) at the first seminar

As ever, the students have a variety of experience of funeral service, which will contribute to the learning experience of the group as a whole.

They are working towards the examination on 6th December.

 

 

Three courses are planned for 2018

In January Course P will be held in a new venue, accessible to potential students from the north of London, in St Alban’s Hertfordshire.
Course Q will return to Central London in April
Course R will be convenient for candidates from the south.

Not one, but two groups of students commencing CertFAA in the same week?   How? In an exciting development for the popular course, for the first time LAFD Certificate in Funeral Arranging & Administration is being offered outside the London area. Christmas Elf ‘n’Safety – A timely reminder

It might seem obvious, but simple precautions sometimes are forgotten in the busy Christmas period: Don’t let decorations obstruct smoke or heat detectors. Don’t obstruct safety signage. Check last year’s Christmas lights before using them again. Check that the plug and transformer are not damaged. Don’t forget to switch lights off when the workplace is empty. Explosions at crematoria linked to angina treatment

During the last few weeks there have been a small number of explosions at crematoria in the UK . It has been suggested that the cause might be the presence of a GTN Skin Patch present on the deceased.   GTN – Glyceryl Trinitrate – in the form of skin patches, is a treatment used to treat Chronic Angina and is derived from TNT, though the amount is very small.
